South Tangerang – The Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and Huawei Indonesia strengthen synergy in building digitally capable human resources. This was stated in the signing of an extension of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on increasing the capacity of Indonesia's digital talent, Wednesday (5/4).
Huawei Indonesia has been a ministry partner in creating Indonesian digital talent since 2020. This synergy proves our joint commitment to accelerating the growth of digital talent in order to achieve the 9 million digital talents that Indonesia needs by 2030.
Acting Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology Nizam expressed his appreciation for Huawei's concrete steps in preparing digital human resources capable of responding to demands in the digital transformation era. Moreover, through Huawei's ongoing support for the Kampus Merdeka and Kedaireka programs in order to prepare a superior generation that lives the spirit of Pancasila.
"Through digital literacy and the world of technology, the Ministry of Education and Culture also supports to create a superior and golden generation in ruling this new world. Through the Merdeka Learning Merdeka Campus program, it is hoped that the younger generation can become wise and critical masters of technology," said Nizam.
On this occasion, Nizam also appreciated Huawei for contributing to building digital literacy in the country through CSR Ramadan activities in the form of donating telecommunication supporting equipment in order to improve teaching and learning activities in Islamic boarding schools and orphanages.
"This is the time for all parties, both from industry and technology players, especially in the world of education, to work together to encourage digital literacy nationally," added Nizam.
Director of Government Affairs Huawei Indonesia, Yenty Joman said that as a global technology, information and communication company, Huawei will support the use of ICT in educational institutions, not only in public and private universities, but will also extend to Islamic higher education, as well as Vocational School (SMK) and boarding school. Forms of support are carried out through various upskilling training, certification, and opportunities to participate in ICT competencies, both at national and global levels.
"Entering its third year, we are proud to announce that Huawei has successfully reached more than 80 thousand digital talents, or about 80 percent of the target. Through the Ramadan CSR program for Islamic boarding schools, we hope that Islamic boarding schools will be able to prepare future generations of leaders who, in addition to mastering religion, culture and social sciences, are also digitally competent and have innovative thinking skills," concluded Yenty.
On the same occasion, the Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religion, Muhammad Ali Ramdhani said that currently the digital ecosystem is an ecosystem that is in harmony with today's era, where education is an important part in creating a talented generation. He said that currently there are a lot of qualified talents in Islamic boarding school education so that it is hoped that it can improve economic prosperity in Indonesia.
"I want to say that we both want education that gives birth to meaningful people. This can be supported by this collaboration being able to create strong cooperation in forming a superior generation in this era," he explained.
Deputy for Human Development at the Office of the Presidential Staff (KSP), Abetnego Tarigan warmly welcomed Huawei's commitment and initiative in increasing cooperation with ministerial institutions in order to realize better human resources and Indonesia's development.
"We appreciate Huawei's commitment and encourage Huawei's collaboration with ministry agencies in developing human resources in Indonesia. Huawei's commitment with the Presidential Staff Office in preparing 100 digital talents is expected to help create human resources in Indonesia who are able to compete in the future," he said.
